We finally get the low-down from Sony on what 4K from the FS700 will look like. They reveal how they are opening up for third party recorders like the Convergent Designs Odyssey7Q which will feature 30fps in 4K and up to 240fps continuous recording in 2K. They also talk about the cost of upgrading the camera to 4K along with other advantages like the FS700’s own form of S-Log.

One can only hope that with the new update/upgrades we will finally get a continuous file naming metadata system that doesn’t reset every time we format a card… If this is a result of “conforming to AVCHD standards” then FU*K AVCHD!
