Today it was announced that GoPro, makers of popular extreme sports digital video camera, has acquired CineForm, a leading developer of video compression and workï¬‚ow technology for the professional ï¬lm and television industry. This acquisition will result in GoPro utilizing CineForm compression in their soon to be released 3D HERO System, an expansion accessory for GoProâ€™s 1080p HD HERO line of cameras.

CineForm will become a division of GoPro and will continue to develop and support its award winning line of professional software products while contributing to the development of new GoPro products.
