Girish Balakrishnan is working on a system to allow what he calls “virtual cinematography” utilizing an iPad, PS3 and PlayStation Move controllers. The system would be a great tool for those wanting an affordable previsualization camera system. Previz has long been used for planning out complex shots. James Cameron went as far as using a virtual hand-held camera to create the movement used in the 3D world of Avatar. Systems like this have always been very expensive involving a lot of specialty gear.
Is this something you can buy? Check out Girish’s blog for more info.
