Here’s another story we missed at NAB 2011. LED lighting seemed to be everywhere, from Litepanels, to Arri finally getting in the game and several others. But it looks like LEDs might have some competition. Adam Wilt from ProVideoCoaltion writes about the new venture of Plasma lights. Plasma based lighting has almost a 10x efficiency with a 2K tungsten equivalent fixture only drawing about 273 watts of power. Right now Plasma lighting is still very expensive, but as market demand grows hopefully the price will begin to drop.

Well, the post content really discloses the best of incredibility of Plasma light. And according to me, it’s really not possible. Because of LED lights is really the great invention. And this one is the best quality of lights. And the LED lights really produce the brighter light than normals. So it’s my thought about it. Hey, the more competition, the better.รย Incandescent lights are great, but very hot and they take a long time to cool down.รย LEDs now are very expensive, probably twice or more than incandescents.รย
I hope something comes of this, though it may mean getting a whole new light package.
